Located on the site of John Lombe’s Silk Mill of the early 1720s – England’s first ‘modern’ factory – the museum illustrates the full extent of Derbyshire’s industrial achievement. Exhibits include George Fletcher’s ‘Grasshopper’ and a major collection of Rolls-Royce aero engines.
