Poppies Come Home
The Silk Mill will be hosting the “Weeping Window” installation, as Paul Cummins iconic Poppies return to the town where many of them were made. From 9th June to 23rd July 2017 the poppies will be part of 14-18 NOW’s UK-wide tour, at the site of the world’s first factory.
Joseph Wright Paintings
A secret agent was used in New York to buy two paintings by English artist Joseph Wright of Derby and return them to the city of his birth. Derby Museum Trust surprised everyone when it unveiled the paintings of Sir Richard Arkwright’s mills and Willersley Castle on Monday night.
