A Leisurely Stroll around Cromford

Time: 10am to 12.30pm
Starts from Shop in the Yard, Cromford Mills, DE4 3RQ

A four mile walk around some of the parts that you may not have noticed before. From the Mill we will visit Rock House, Intake Lane, North Street, Alabaster Lane, the two Corn Mills, St Mary’s and the river bridge, before returning to the Mill.

Family Friday Museum Monsters

Time: 10am to 11.30am
Venue: Museum and Art Gallery, The Strand, Derby, DE1 1BS
FREE. No need to book, just turn up. Suitable for all. Wheelchair accessible.

There are Museum Monsters waiting to be discovered at Derby Museums this Family Friday! Come and create your very own Museum Monster to take home, and complete our gruesome Monster Trail around the galleries!

Happy Hedgehogs at the Whistlestop Centre

Hallowe’en Trip on Birdswood

Celebrate Hallowe’en with a spooky trip on narrowboat Birdswood along the Cromford Canal. Fancy dress optional. Spooky cakes and dragon’s blood drinks available.

Heage and the Duffield Frith

Time: 2.15pm to 4.30pm
Starts from the Eagle Tavern Car Park, Heage, DE56 2HU

Four mile walk with John Morrissey to see and hear how a former mediaeval deer park lying at the northern edge of the Duffield Frith was acquired by the Hurt family using profits from mineral extraction to make them yet more money. Start time is bus friendly.


Comings and Goings: Folk Concert

Time: 8pm to 10.30pm
Venue: Wheatcroft’s Walk Cafe (upstairs), Cromford, DE4 3RQ
Cost: £8 (£5 concessions)
Food and drinks available to order from the licensed cafe from 6.30pm onwards (not included in the ticket price). Pre-booking recommended on 01629 536831.

The annual concert by Derbyshire folk musicians Pete Castle, Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham. Songs and stories of leavings and greetings, farewells and hellos.
