Heritage Open Days - Guided Tours

Heritage Open Days celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.  Every year on four days in September, buildings of every age, style and function open their doors.

Location: Cromford Mills - guided tours of Sir Richard Arkwright's Cromford Mills

Free/donation

Tour length - 45 minutes.  At 10 am, 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3 pm each day.
Meet by 'the clock in the yard' at Cromford Mills.

Led by The Arkwright Society Tour Guides.  Join them for a tour of the mill site and discover the early years of Sir Richard Arkwright, his vision, his inventions and why he chose Cromford to establish the world's first successful water-powered cotton spinning mill.

Bookings must be made in advance through the Arkwright Society's Visitor Services Department on 01629 825995 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
