Trains and Boats and Shanks’s Pony

Traditional songs and stories about travel in all its forms: by road, rail and water but probably not air (there are very few folk songs about aeroplanes!) There will almost definitely be coaches and carriages, cars and trains, horses and, of course, shanks’s pony all drawn from the huge repository of songs and stories which make up the British folk tradition. This annual concert by Pete, Keith and Sylvia has become a Discovery Days tradition which is always well supported and hugely enjoyed. Wheatcroft’s Wharf Cafe will be open so you can enjoy a meal, snack or cake, hot drinks, cold drinks or alcoholic drinks, before the show, and throughout the evening!
