Leawood Pumphouse Open
Come and see the marvellous steam powered beam engine built in 1849 on the Cromford Canal, a short walk from High Peak Junction. The engine, powered by a coal fired boiler, can pump 800 gallons of water per stroke from the River Derwent into the canal.
Leawood Pumphouse will only be in steam on Sunday 2nd June, but will be open to look around on Saturday 1st.
Time: 12 noon till 4.30pm
Cost: free admission, donations welcome.
No need to book, just call in.
