The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site (DVMWHS) Partnership is delighted to offer a great opportunity for a consultant to investigate, evaluate and report on a number of options for a vibrant and sustainable DVMWHS Visitor Centre as part of the North and East Mills site in Belper.
The DVMWHS Visitor Centre has to focus on the heritage, stories and complete offer of the DVMWHS’s ‘Central Hub’ as well as communicating and engaging people with the overall Outstanding Universal Value of the whole World Heritage Site, extending 15 miles along the River Derwent from Matlock Bath in the North, to Derby in the South.
The Options Appraisal for a Visitor Centre is an opportunity to inform efforts to secure the heritage for the future, increase the range of cultural opportunities in the area and contribute to sustainable tourism within the DVMWHS.
