Wayfinding In the DVMWHS
We are looking for a consultant to investigate and prepare a wayfinding strategy for three areas within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site at Belper, Milford and Darley Abbey.
This will help people experience and enjoy these places by making it easy to find their way around, connect to other parts of the Site, and get to the places that make each part of the World Heritage Site special.
We are proud to be one of one of sixteen Great Place Schemes in the UK funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England. The industrial heritage of innovation and making will put arts, culture and heritage at the heart of the World Heritage Site. We will inspire and enable people to have a sense of pride in and belonging to the world heritage site where new ideas changed the world.
The majority of our Great Place activities are for the whole world heritage site with a few of the projects focusing on specific places. There are 20 projects that cover a range of activities including arts, business engagement, volunteer training, technology, learning and marketing. There are also projects improving accessibility and wayfinding, community engagement and experiencing work.
