Discovery Days 2020
Friday 9th October to Sunday 11th October 2020
At the beginning of 2020 we were planning to change the look of our Discovery Days festival as it is now in its 15th year. So, to give it a revamp we decided to move the festival to a little earlier than usual and also make it shorter. Then we would have time to focus on the three significant anniversaries we have coming up in 2021: the 250th anniversary of Arkwright’s first mill, the 300th anniversary of the Silk Mill, and the 20th anniversary of the Derwent Valley Mills becoming a World Heritage Site.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic we have made the decision to hold our Discovery Days festival online only this year. This means that we will have a series of films and videos that will be shown over the three days – 9th, 10th and 11th October, you can either watch on the day or at another time.
We will shortly be promoting the programme for the festival. Look out for information on the different digital events taking place, including some live on-line events. All the details will be posted here on our website and on social media, where you can look out for #DiscoveryDays2020online
