HIGHLIGHTING HERITAGE TALK – THE COMING 300th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF JEDIDIAH STRUTT

Adrian Farmer will talk to us about the coming 300th Anniversary of the birth of Jedediah Strutt (1726 -1797). Strutt was a central figure in the textile mill developments in Derbyshire. Adrian will tell us and why this so important for the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, as it approaches its own Silver Jubilee. He will include some of the stories and traditions from the past three centuries which are helping to shape how these anniversaries will be commemorated.
Adrian Farmer has been a coordinator for the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site for over 20 years and has written several books about the valley, particularly Belper, where he was once editor of the Belper News. He is a well-known and respected speaker in Belper and the wider Derwent Valley

Time: Doors open at 7.00pm for refreshments. Talk starts at 7:30pm.
