Derwent Valley Line Station Volunteers
Volunteers can take great pride in their local station by caring for station gardens, platform planters and flower baskets to create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
The Derwent Valley Line Community Rail Partnership and East Midlands Trains supports the work of station volunteers with funding for projects and supplying plants and other resources. Many of the stations have been transformed by the work of station volunteers and other community groups, with the improvements recognised through various Best Station and Community Rail awards.
Volunteers receive safety training and equipment for working at their local station and are registered as station adopters with East Midlands Trains. More volunteers are welcome to join any of the existing volunteers at Duffield, Belper, Ambergate, Whatstandwell, Cromford, Matlock Bath and Matlock.
