HIGHLIGHTING HERITAGE: PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY OF THE DERWENT VALLEY MILLS WORLD HERITAGE SITE
To anticipate and celebrate the forthcoming publication by the Arkwright Society of the first ever photo book of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, the author Ashley Franklin will take you on a fascinating pictorial journey telling the story of how the Derwent Valley Book Project came together.
This talk will encompass: Industrial Heritage, which centres on the mills that once formed one of the major hubs of the Industrial Revolution; People & Places, which depicts the landscape and the people who live, work and play in the valley; and Wildlife, a focus on the rich flora and fauna found in the valley’s fields, forests and waters.
