Outdoor Theatre from Chatsworth Players – Heroes
Join the Chatsworth Players for an open-air production of the delightful ‘Heroes’. Written by Gerald Sibleyras and translated into English by Tom Stoppard, this award-winning comedy is the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
“One must strive a little for the epic, old boy.”
Meet Henri, Gustave and Phillippe, three veterans of the Great War, living in retirement at a home for soldiers. When not admiring the local ladies or undermining the nuns who run the home, they can be found on their favourite terrace plotting adventure and escape. These three unlikely companions help each other face that great leveller, age, with grace and good humour…and an occasional spat between cantankerous old codgers!
Bring you own seating – low backed chairs and rugs. Picnics are welcome. We will go ahead in the event of rain, so make sure you dress appropriately. Umbrellas are discouraged as they block other’s views – please be considerate of others and bring macs or cagoules.
