Talk: Research & Restorative Justice: The Guardian and its Links with Historical Slavery

A special talk focusing on Dr Cassandra Goopta’s work investigating the Guardian newspaper and its links with historical slavery. The investigation uncovered details of the sources of raw cotton supplies into the Derwent Valley Mills; from plantation to merchant to mill. The talk will focus on the research, the editorial response and some of the restorative justice outputs of the Guardian Legacies of Enslavement project.
