DISCOVERING THE LOST ROAD FROM BELPER TO CROMORD, HERITAGE WALK

A first time adventure, new for 2025! Where was the land owner’s private way which existed before the A6? A unique special day long linear walk to discover the route of the private road that linked Belper and Cromford before the turnpike (now the A6) was built in 1817. The length is 8 miles. Please note that this is not a circular route, so you will need to find your own way back. There are regular bus and train links to return to Belper.

Venue: Starting from the Belper Mills at 10.30am and stropping for lunch at the “Family Tree” Whatstandwell after 5 miles where you can purchase food and drink continuing to Cromford Market Place to finish approximately 4pm.
Time: 10.30 – approximately 4pm Please note that this is not a circular route, so you will need to find your own way back. There are regular bus and train links to return to Belper.
Cost: Adults £7.50, under 16s free
