Scenes from a century that saw a fight for greater representation, resistance to vaccinations but also an appreciation of this developing mill town. The words are from residents and visitors to Belper and contemporary newspaper reports. The book “Belper Voices: Life in Belper in the Nineteenth Century volume two” will be available to purchase during the event. Readings selected by Christopher Charlton.
