Walk led by Roger Tanner, focusing first on the growth of the Chartists in Belper, and the trades/unions, involved. Then it will tell the story of the 1842 General Strike as it impacted in Belper, Holbrook and Derby.  The walk through the town will include the former Hospital, sites of  work places, homes and meeting places in the town and return to the Market Place by about 12.30. No need to book – just turn up.
