We are committed to encouraging research into the World Heritage Site and its impact on the rest of the UK and the World.
The research conducted for inscription has provided a baseline to support monitoring and informed management of the World Heritage Site. It has also ensured that authenticity is protected within conservation and development works. The research agenda has been set by the Research and Publications Panel, which commissions work and also referees major pieces for publication and interpretation.
New and recent research will be published here from time to time.
