Wildlife Guardians

The Wildlife Guardians project aims to engage local people of all ages with the wildlife of the Lower Derwent Valley. This will be achieved through a programme of walks and talks, family learning activities, youth ranger sessions and practical training events. People will be encouraged to participate in the DerwentWISE Scheme by recording wildlife sightings and helping to manage wildlife habitats.

Lincolnshire volunteer practical training session
Heritage at Risk

DerwentWISE Heritage at Risk will run numerous volunteer training days for people of all ages. Participants will learn how to carry out a condition survey for a range of heritage features including buildings, earthworks/archaeology, places of worship, and monuments. All participants will have opportunity to continue to volunteer with the project and use the data they gather to update the County’s Heritage Environmental Records (HER).
