DVMWHS Great Place Scheme
Following UK Government advice to limit non-essential contact and travel, we are reviewing the activities of the Great Place Scheme. Due to the unprecedented situation and the announcements from the government, it is with great regret that we will be suspending Great Place events and activities that are open to the public until the end of June.
It is of utmost importance to us to consider the safety of our volunteers, participants, audiences, traders and performers. We also acknowledge that we can contribute to the response to the outbreak to limit contacts and travel. We are liaising closely with the DVMWHS Partnership, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Arts Council England to review the impact on the overall Great Place Scheme.
Our heritage, arts and culture are important to people – and we will plan for activities to re-start when this fits with national advice and can be enjoyed by everyone. We hope that our delivery will be able to take place with revised timescales. Please look out for further information which we will share here and through our social media channels.
Please keep your eye on online channels for our partners and local visitor attractions. Sites and visitor attractions are monitoring the situation closely. The Derwent Valley has many open spaces that can be enjoyed, while observing advice around social distancing.
