The term “Strutty Banger” is a proud piece of Belper history. “Strutty Banger” was a nickname for the pupils of Herbert Strutt School. Together they celebrate Belper’s industrial heritage and love of good food.

To mark this year’s event, Belper250 are inviting local people to take part in two exciting Strutty Banger Competitions!

Adult Competition: Create Belper’s Signature Sausage

Think you’ve got the recipe for Belper’s next favourite banger? We’re looking for an original sausage receipt that captures the flavour and character of our town. The winning receipe will become the official Belper Town Sausage.

Calling all young inventors and budding engineers! Design your own imaginative sausage-making machine. Draw it, label it, and tell us how it works.  The more creative, fun and unusual, the better!

How to Enter

Entries for both competitions must be received by Friday 17th July
