Recycled Jewellery: Introduction to Fine Metalworking

This is an introductory course to jewellery making and fine metalworking using recycled or reclaimed materials and found objects.

Multimedia Artist and Maker Arthur Scott will lead you through creating your own accessories and curios, incorporating your small found objects. These could be sea glass, semi-precious gemstones, or even a nut or bolt you found at the side of the road.

You will learn a variety of traditional techniques and use whichever ones you need to bend, solder, or peen recycled copper or brass into your desired piece.

You will also encounter unique and beautiful items from Derby Museums’ collections to inspire your own creations.
