Access for All

Access for All
Due to the historic nature of the World Heritage Site and the requirements to carry out improvements which do not negatively impact the Outstanding Universal Value, there is still some way for us to go to say that we really have Access for All. But we continue to work on it!
Part of the Great Place Scheme, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England, looked at accessibility issues across the site. We worked with Accessible Derbyshire to carry out accessibility audits at some of our sites, trained staff from partner organisations, and generally pointed us in the right direction. Sites and organisations continue to implement changes and recommendations some of which are outlined below.
We have tried to include information and links that you might need to ensure you and your family can fully enjoy your visit to the World Heritage in a safe and relaxed way. However, if you have any questions about individual sites, please do contact them and talk through your visit with them.
